In 1865 in the town of Le Locle in the Swiss Jura, visionary watchmaker George Favre-Jacot was driven by the idea of creating the most accurate and reliable watches of his time.
He revolutionised the way of producing timepieces by erecting spacious and luminous buildings and by bringing together the entire range of watchmaking professions under one roof. In doing so, he facilitated the systematic control of each component and that of the complete mechanism. Regrouping these skills in one place significantly spurred the progress of production techniques, and Zenith was indeed thus able to produce the most precise and reliable watches ever.
